When they ran out of room on Tripod street where the rest of the initial and earlier choragic monuments were erected they had so many they put them in visible but out of the way spots.
These two ancient columns have miraculously survived earthquakes and bombardment and are dedicated to choral groups of young boys and their backer (no pun intended) similar to the Choreographic Monument of Lysikrates which will give you more information on ancient Athens. This one right photographed from Philopapou Hill and left from the Plaka .
